Introducing Bellevue Chiropractor Dr. Laurin McElheran

"He was our small town’s doctor. I admired him and was planning a similar career." "Doc knew I was interested in healthcare and encouraged me", remembers Dr. McElheran. "When I told him I was considering becoming a Chiropractor he advised against that path and offered to pay for medical school instead. Doc's sudden death, at age 52 from a heart attack, got me thinking hard about the direction of healthcare at that time."
"I have a desire to help people", recalls Dr. McElheran. "I knew that a natural approach to health made sense and that chiropractic embraced a way to avoid surgery and drugs. I decided to check it out and have never regretted that decision!"
Dr. McElheran received his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic graduating Summa Cum Laude. During his four years of study at Palmer courses included: biochemistry, anatomy and human physiology, neurology, x-ray, chiropractic adjusting techniques, and patient care.
Since beginning his practice in 1978 Dr. McElheran has served as President of the Washington Chiropractic Association. He has been honored as the state's Chiropractor of the Year and is Board Certified by the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists. He has personally coached thousands of patients toward improving their lifestyle, overcoming debilitating conditions, and achieving optimum health.
"We have two important goals with each patient", explains Dr. McElheran. "Our first consideration is to bring the most thorough and effective chiropractic techniques to manage spine related injuries. Having said that, the most deeply fulfilling aspect of our practice is to inspire and educate each person about how they can create optimum health through regular exercise, good nutrition, and caring for their spine".
Dr. McElheran grew up in the northwoods of Minnesota. He attended the University of Washington where he was to meet his wife. They enjoyed raising their two sons as independent thinkers. "After all", notes Dr. Mac, "their Dad was a chiropractor and their Mom a pharmacist". When not caring for patients, you will find Dr. McElheran on the ski slopes, golf course, or his bike sharing time with family and friends.
"If you are looking to make wellness a part of your life chiropractic is for you. It is natural and effective. We begin by caring for your spine but the benefits often extend to your entire body. I invite you to discover what it can do for you."
